Interstate 264 is a 3 digit interstate that goes from I-64 and I-664 at Bower’s Hill in Chesapeake to 21st and 22nd Streets at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The route serves downtown Portsmouth & Norfolk, and the Virginia Beach Town Center and Oceanfront.

The Route Path:
I-264 begins at an interchange with I-64 and I-664 at Bower’s Hill in the City of Chesapeake. The interstate enters the City of Portsmouth shortly after. I-264 has an exit with Greenwood Drive, followed by VA-239, then VA-337, which puts US 460 on the interstate, and then US 17 has an interchange before the VA-164 exit.
Exits for VA-141 and Court Street follow the Downtown Tunnel, where the interstate enters Norfolk. Just after the tunnel, I-264 meets the northern end of I-464. Then, I-264, US 460 and VA-337 go for Downtown Norfolk. All three routes dodge the downtown though, and US 460/VA-337 are let off the interstate, leaving just I-264 continuing eastward.
After an exit and a few miles, the interstate has an interchange with US 13, followed by one with I-64, and then I-264 enters the City of Virginia Beach. After exits with VA-403 and VA-190, the interstate has an exit for VA-225, which provides access to the Virginia Beach Town Center.
A couple miles later, I-264 has an exit for Rosemont Road, shortly after that is an exit for the Lynnhaven Parkway. Then, a triple exit for London Bridge Road, US 58, and Business US 58 comes, followed by one for First Colonial Road.
About a mile later, is the final exit on the interstate, Birdneck Road. After Birdneck Road, the median widens as I-264 approaches Parks Avenue, where the interstate reaches its eastern end and continues as 21st Street (EB) and 22nd Street (WB) to US 60 and Pacific/Atlantic Avenues, accessing the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
My Experiences:
I have been on I-264 many times. I have used it going eastbound on almost all of my trips to Virginia Beach. The ones where I didn't go eastbound on the interstate, I likely used it going westbound.
The most recent trips I went on to involve I-264 were the trips to and from Virginia Beach on July 15/16, 2023. The "to" trip used the interstate from VA-164 to the eastern end, while the "from" trip used it from the eastern end to the eastern I-64 interchange.
