My first road trip after my birthday, also one of the shorter ones at the time in terms of milage. All of the photos from this trip are also in the morning for the first time ever. On the trip, I took 70 photos and 2 videos in Greene/Madison Counties.
Part One - To Madison
The trip started at 8:33 AM with a picture on US 29 northbound at SR-607 in Greene County. At 8:36 AM, I passed through the intersection with US 33 in Ruckersville, taking pictures through there as intersection work was wrapping up. I continued north on US 29, eventually crossing the Rapidan River into Madison County at 8:39 AM.

A minute later, I passed the county welcome sign, before recording my first video of the trip (3rd trip video ever), which lasted exactly a minute as I passed through part of rural Madison County. At 8:45 AM, I approached the southern intersection of US 29/VA-230, taking a picture before I recorded the 2nd video of the trip. That lasted exactly two minutes, and went from the intersection, north to the southern end of US 29 Business, south of Madison. That video would be the last time I use my camera for the first part of the trip.

Part Two - From Madison
I got back on the road at 10:39 AM, taking a picture as US 29 Business/VA-231 merged onto Mainline US 29. At 10:41 AM, I reached the southern US 29/VA-230 intersection again, this time turning west onto VA-230.

A minute after that, I took one of the best pictures of my roadgeek career as I approached the intersection with SR-657, before taking more amazing pictures, reaching SR-662 at Wolftown at 10:44 AM. At 10:46 AM, I crossed the Rapidan River, shortly before passing through the community of Hood. I continued on VA-230, before crossing the Conway River back into Greene County at 10:49 AM.

At 10:51 AM, I passed SR-621 and SR-637, before entering Stanardsville under a minute later. I reached the west end of VA-230 at US 33 Business at 10:53 AM, turning left/eastbound. I took my final picture of the trip east of Stanardsville at 10:54 AM.

After:
This was my first time getting pictures on VA-230 west of US 29 ever, but it wouldn't be the last. This trip gave me some of the best photos I've taken in 2023, all on the part of VA-230 west of US 29.
I would also take mini-trips to Madison (same spot) in 2 of the next 3 days.
