VA-200 goes from US 360 in Burgess to VA-3 in White Stone. The route connects Kilmarnock with Burgess.

Burgess to Kilmarnock:
VA-200 starts at US 360 in Burgess. The route goes to the south, and crosses the Great Wicomoco River. VA-200 continues south, and goes through the small community of Wicomoco Church. Shortly after, the route crosses into Lancaster County, before re-entering Northumberland County. VA-200 runs close to the county line, before reaching Kilmarnock.
In Kilmarnock, VA-200 intersects VA-3, which both routes have a concurrency through part of the town. Shortly after the concurrency starts, VA-200 splits back off from VA-3, and goes through another small part of Kilmarnock.
Kilmarnock to White Stone:
After leaving the town, VA-200 heads southwest through Lancaster County, where it intersects the east end of VA-222. After the intersection, the route continues south towards Irvington. VA-200 passes through Irvington, before heading east.
The route passes by the southern ends of Old Mill Cove and Dunton Cove. Shortly after, VA-200 turns southeast, before entering White Stone, and meeting it's south end at VA-3. The road continues east towards Windmill Point as SR-695.
