The Route Path:
VA-263 starts at an intersection with SR-610 in the CDP of Orkney Springs. The route heads northeast, gaining elevation as it runs along the border of the CDP of Basye. Around 1.25 miles later, VA-263 intersects Ellen Drive, which provides access to a neighborhood.
Shortly after, the route has an intersection with SR-836, which provides access to most of Basye. After the intersection, VA-263 passes to the north of another neighborhood as it gains more elevation, before having a short concurrency with SR-611.
After the concurrency, the route continues south for about 1.6 miles, before curving southeast. Shortly after, VA-263 has an intersection with VA-42. After the intersection, the route continues east for a while, passing by the unincorporated community of Mount Clifton.
Around 2.5 miles later, VA-263 has an intersection with SR-614, continuing east for about 1.2 miles, passing under I-81, and entering the town of Mount Jackson. The route curves southeast, before curving back east and reaching its eastern end at an intersection with US 11.
My Experiences:
I have never been on VA-263. However, I have passed over it on I-81.
