US 311 goes from Business US 58 just west of Danville to US 52 and NC-8 in Winston-Salem, NC. But since this is a Virginia-based website, this page is only going to have the short portion in Virginia.

The Route Path:
US 311 starts just east of where Business US 58 meets US 58, 7 miles west of Danville. US 311 heads south as a 2 lane highway, passing under US 58 Mainline. The route passes through some rural farms and small woods.
US 311 then leaves the farms and enters mainly wooded areas. Shortly after, the route crosses railroad tracks, and continues towards the NC border. Just over a mile later, US 311 enters North Carolina, and heads towards the small town of Eden.
