Virginia State Route is a route that goes from US 58/VA-164 in the Port Norfolk neighborhood of Portsmouth to US 17 just west of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, also in Portsmouth. The route is one of multiple ways to get from US 58/VA-164 to the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
VA-141 Shield |
The Route Path:
VA-141 begins at an interchange with US 58 and VA-164 in Port Norfolk, a neighborhood in the City of Portsmouth. The route heads east, passing by Scotts Creek Park before passing along the southern border of the Park View District. VA-141 intersects Elm Avenue, continuing east shortly before reaching an intersection with Effingham Street.
At the intersection, the route turns south (onto Effingham Street), passing by the west end of Downtown Portsmouth before reaching an interchange with I-264. VA-141 continues south from the interchange, passing by neighborhoods and businesses as a 6-lane divided street, still carrying the name Effingham Street.
Eventually, the route intersects Portsmouth Boulevard, immediately followed by the main entry point to the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. After this, VA-141 curves southwest, re-intersecting Elm Avenue (now carrying VA-337) shortly after. The route continues southwest, eventually reaching an intersection with US 17, where VA-141 reaches its southern end.
My Experiences:
I have never been on VA-141, but I have passed by its northern end on US 58/VA-164, and passed through the I-264 interchange while being on the interstate.
