Virginia State Route 289 is a road that goes from VA-286/SR-638 in West Springfield to SR-613 south of Franconia. The route serves as a 'leg' of VA-286 that serves Franconia, Lincolnia, and Alexandria and is known as the Franconia-Springfield Parkway.

The Route Path:
VA-289 starts at an interchange with VA-286 and SR-638 in the CDP of West Springfield. The route heads northeast from here, crossing the Accotink Creek before curving to the east and having a signalized intersection with Bonniemill Lane. Just after this intersection, VA-289 passes by Hooes Road Park, shortly before curving northeast again and having an interchange with SR-617 (Backlick Road).
The route immediately has an interchange with the I-95 Express Lanes, not far south of the infamous "Mixing Bowl" interchange where I-95 meets I-395 and I-495. From here, VA-289 curves southeast and has a diamond interchange with SR-2677 (Frontier Drive), which accesses the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station, as well as the free I-95 lanes.
The route then crosses over the railroad tracks, before having a westbound-only intersection with SR-10026 (Yes, a 5-digit route) and shortly after, VA-289 reaches its eastern end at an intersection with SR-613, south of Franconia.
My Experiences:
I have never been on VA-289.
